1. 1980s – 2015 · The Roots

   35 years at the helm of Brewery Reitter

   The story of Absolut Gastronomie Immobilien begins not with real estate – but with beer. Erich Genzlinger spent over 35 years as managing director of the traditional Brewery Reitter in Lörrach. During this time he came to know the hospitality industry from the ground up: the operators, the challenges, the properties behind them. Knowledge that no degree can teach – only decades of experience.

   Brewery Reitter, founded in 1877 in Lörrach, was a cornerstone of the southern Baden Markgräflerland. When the two owners decided to liquidate the company for lack of a successor, Erich Genzlinger was tasked with selling the entire inventory and the more than 20 brewery-owned properties.

3. Around 2015 · The Spark

   From brewery sale to a calling

   What began as a one-off assignment became a vocation. In the course of marketing the brewery properties, Erich Genzlinger set up his own brokerage office. Word spread quickly: more and more restaurateurs – former business partners, industry acquaintances – approached him asking him to find a buyer or tenant for their restaurants, inns and hotels. Step by step, the “EG office for hospitality brokerage” grew into a specialist broker with a growing reputation.

1. 2018 · The Turning Point

   Heiko Genzlinger brings digital expertise

   Just as Erich Genzlinger was considering winding down his activities, his son Heiko joined the company. Heiko Genzlinger brought a completely different background: as the former CEO of Yahoo! Germany and in various leadership roles in the digital economy, he had learned to rethink markets, leverage technology, and build reach where others least expected it.

   The combination was unique: Erich brought deep industry knowledge, network and credibility in the hospitality world. Heiko brought digital marketing expertise, strategic thinking and a forward-looking vision. Together they transformed the regional brokerage office into the brand Absolut Gastronomie Immobilien.

2. 2019 – 2025 · The Rise

   One of the leading specialist brokers in southern Germany

   Since then, AGI has established itself as one of the leading specialist brokers for gastronomy and hotel real estate in southern Germany – focusing on Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg. The formula for success: combining deep industry knowledge with state-of-the-art digital marketing. AGI reaches potential buyers, tenants and investors not only via traditional property portals, but also through targeted social media campaigns, industry networks and direct outreach.

   Since 2025 Erich Genzlinger has been enjoying his well-earned retirement and only acts in an occasional advisory capacity. The company is led by Heiko Genzlinger as owner – with the same standard his father set from the very beginning: personal, competent and always on the client’s side.

3. January 2026 · The Addition

   Launch of Hogawelt – the self-service portal

   With the launch of hogawelt.com in January 2026, Heiko Genzlinger completes the offering and closes a gap in the market. While Absolut Gastronomie Immobilien accompanies owners personally as a full-service broker, Hogawelt offers an alternative for those who wish to list their gastronomy or hotel property independently and without a broker commission.

4. 

   The portal for self-listers

   Hogawelt is the first specialised listing portal exclusively for gastronomy and hotel properties in Germany. Owners, sellers and succession seekers can list their property independently and contact prospective buyers directly – without broker ties, without commission. Listers also benefit from automatic social media distribution and two free online calculators for key-money and income value.
